Background of "Lishe Poa, Maisha Poa"Nairobi has the highest number of stunted children in the county with 104,074 cases, which means one in every three children in Nairobi’s informal settlement is stunted, according to the malnutrition assessment Concern conducted in August. For most mothers and their babies in informal settlements in Nairobi city, reliance on unhealthy street foods like Chips Mwitu and Bhajias, which is cheap but poor in nutrition, is very high. To address this situation, Concern Kenya with supported by Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) launched the project called "Lishe Poa Maisha Bora (Nutrition for Better Life)" to improve health and nutrition status of children under five, pregnant women and lactation mothers in Nairobi city’s informal settlements by providing nutritious and affordable food snacks which Concern will develop further in private and public partnership and by promoting improved food and health practices.

The Launch of the ProjectConcern Kenya had the launch ceremony of the project on Oct. 4th at Conference hall of Serena Hotel with key stakeholders from Government, UN agencies, KOICA and Health unit in Nairobi. The ceremony sensitized stakeholders about the project, authorized the steering committee and reported the Nairobi County Maternal Young Child Infant Nutrition (MIYCN) Social Behavioral Change Communication (SBCC) strategy.
